Wai Lana’s Little Yogis Daydream
Reviewer: Palmetto Parent Magazine (www.palmettoparent.com), January 2006

Wai Lana has hosted her own series on PBS for several years and has released DVDs, CDs, activity books, and yoga equipment under her Little Yogis line. Her new DVD, Daydream, contains a short video to help children relax; games for counting, spelling, and more; and music videos. The video uses soothing imagery of waterfalls, oceans, and animals as it implements a head-to-toe relaxation method to help little children off to sleep during naptime. This is not an exercise video or a rollicking adventure for your children. It is a relaxation video that should be employed during naptime or after a long day when your kids are a little too wound up.

Wai Lana’s Little Yogis Daydream DVD Award Review

Reviewer: Film Advisory Board, October 2005

Daydream is an enchanting animated video. Songs of endearment and ancient techniques set the mood for children’s relaxation time to drift into a world of wonderful colorful dreams. It is fascinating. The adorable, humorous creatures (pink elephants that dive, insects that snuggle, dolphins that frolic about, seabirds that soar, castles in the sand, a mouse on a cheese kite, dancing butterflies, hot air balloons, and children at play) are what dreams are made of. Fantasies inspire children. This DaydreamDVD inspires fantasies.

The magical Daydream island, with a host of wonderful characters, entertains and educates all in the family to a world of play, relaxation, joy, and friendship in the delightful Little Yogis Daydream video. It is the perfect addition for the family video library.

Daydream DVD

This is a wonderful relaxation DVD for your children. It is filled with colorful pictures, relaxing songs, and fun games. I can admit that it is relaxing because it helped even me relax. It was amazing to me because when my children were small, I would help them relax by telling them a little relaxing story for different parts of the body. Now Wai Lana does the same thing with this lovely DVD, with her soothing voice singing the songs and telling stories. Also added to this are fun games that the kids can play after rest time is over.

This is a charming naptime video that children will enjoy winding down and relaxing to. It features adorable cartoon characters that sing soothing songs. Drawing from an ancient yoga relaxation technique called Yoga Nidra, this video guides you through a playful head-to-toe meditation as you settle down. It is full of adventure with secret waterfalls, hot air balloon rides, pink elephants, happy monkeys, and dancing butterflies. Children will develop visual skills while opening creativity and imagination. The 30-minute video includes special features, Spanish subtitles and comes with a Daydream poster. It truly makes naptime a pleasure for kids, parents, and teachers.

Variety is the spice of these videos

"Rest and relaxation are essential to our well-being no matter how old we are," says Wai Lana, "and learning to relax when you’re young will stay with you for the rest of your life."

I agree 100 percent.

Here is the perfect quiet-time video for your pre-schooler. In fact, I thinkLittle Yogis is a great way to introduce ancient relaxation techniques to the whole family. Songs and soothing pictures are used to help kids stretch, breathe, and relax. The pace, the visuals, and the music are all in harmony to help little ones settle down or even slip into sleep.

This is a step-by-step guide, but does not come off as rote; the lessons seem natural and easy. The DVD can be a soothing relaxation tool for families and a great resource for caregivers.

Sylvia says: Lyrical, lovely, and sure to please.
